La Mission Inc.

Evangelizing the World with the Bible

We will make an attempt on this page to list any and all projects that the ministry is working on or praying about.  Your prayers for the Ministry of La Mission Inc. are coveted as we seek to serve our Lord.  We need your prayers for direction, wisdom, provision of volunteers, and provision of working capital.

Thank you once again for taking your valuable time to read about La Mission Inc and to pray for us.  We know that as you pray for our needs, God will bless you also, and he may even direct you to a more direct relationship with His ministry here.  There are links to newsletters on the HOME, and OUR MISSIONARIES pages for more information.  You can email us to be added to the mailing list.

WHAT’S NEW

United States

Two out of three of our current missionary families are based in the USA.

Director, Rev. Robert Swann, leads the ministry of La Mission, Inc. This entails making periodic trips to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.  He also supervises the home office in Cocoa, FL and encourages the ministry’s missionaries.

Missionaries Don and Christine Ames live full time in an RV and can be found serving our Lord with churches, Christian hospitals, youth camps, Christian retreat centers, and other Christian service ministries all over the world.  Most of their work is construction related as they do remodeling and larger maintenance projects.  Pray for guidance, safety, and provision as they travel and work.  You can check their WHAT’S NEW page on their web site www.Ames4Him.com.

Dominican Republic, and Haiti

Bob Swann leads several small teams each year into the Dominican Republic (DR) and Haiti to do evangelism and construction projects.  These trips have resulted in relationships with pastors and new Christians in both countries.

We have purchased a plot of land in Haiti near the boarder of the Dominican Republic. With the January 12, 2010 Port-au-Prince earthquake, many children have become orphans. We began praying about starting this new ministry in 2009, not knowing that the Haitian people would need more help than ever. In December of '09, we made final plans to travel to Haiti to lay the groundwork for the orphanage, but because of the earthquake, we had to fly into the Dominican Republic and then drive across the border.

Our first step is to move the children into a large rented house, where the children will live until their permanent dorm is complete. Tony Hyppolite (our Haitian coworker) will care for the children on a day-to-day basis, while we continue to raise much needed support. Once we finish building the first dormitory, then we can move everyone onto the La Mission Orphan property.

We are looking for individuals and groups who will come down and help us build. Will you consider being a part of this very needy ministry?  We also need prayer warriors and financial resources in order to do the Lord's work.  Please pray for wisdom, strength, safety, and provision.  Thank you.
